NAEYC STANDARDS AND PROOF WITH MY WORK
STANDARD 1: Promoting Child Development and Learning
Students prepared in early childhood degree programs are grounded in a child development knowledge base. They use their understanding of young children's characteristics and needs and of the multiple interacting influences on children's development and learning to create environments that are healthy, respectful, supportive and challenging for each child.

Rational Statement: Attached are classroom material lists for a toddler classroom and a preschool classroom. Promoting a safe learning environment is key in having a successful classroom. Children need a lot of different items/toys in the classroom to manipulate and play with. Evolving the children's interest in the class is a huge property in having a successful learning environment.

Rational Statement: Attached is a child study on I did on a preschooler. By doing observations, and anecdotal notes on the child I was able to come up with some goals and areas she needed more practice in. I use a ASQ Ages Stages Questioner to help me further my observations on the child. I also interviewed the child's parents to get more knowledge about her health history and home life.

Rational Statement: My proof for this standard is a Program Quality Assessment (PQA) review paper I wrote. The classroom I wrote this on was one of my preschool internships I completed for my degree. I learned a lot from all the PQA I had todo though out my degree. This one in a community half day preschool I learned so much in and use in my class everyday now. I feel a PQA is a perfect tool to use in making sure you as and educator have a safe, loving, and enjoyable classroom. these also help make sure you stay on teaching developmentally appropriate lessons.

STANDARD 5: Using Content Knowledge to Build Meaningful Curriculum
Students prepared in early childhood degree programs use their knowledge of academic disciplines to design, implement, and evaluate experiences that promote positive development and learning for each and every young child. Students understand the importance of development domains and academic (or content) disciplines in an early childhood curriculum. They know the essential concepts, inquiry tools, and structure of content areas, including academic subjects, and can identify resources to deepen their understandings. Students use their own knowledge and other resources to design, implement, and evaluate meaningful, challenging curricula that promote comprehensive development and learning outcomes for every young child.

Rational Statement: Attached are my website links for a toddler class and one for a preschool class. On both websites I followed the Key Developmental Indicters which is also know as K.D.I.'S. These lessons help teachers find the areas children love and also the areas children need more experience in. The K.D.I.'S go in depth about each subject so teachers can find what area a student is struggling in with that learning area, by doing lessons based around the Key Developmental Indicators.

Rational Statement: Attached to standard 6 is my philosophy of education. I feel it is important for every teacher to have there own philosophy of teaching and follow it. I learned about my philosophy of education in a lot of my internships I completed. I took what I liked and what I didn't like from all of them and made that my philosophy. I follow the ethical code, and always will do developmentally appropriate activities.
